Wes Welker is not worth it

    So Welker and the Patriots have two numbers that are $6 million dollars apart for his upcoming contract. If I was the Patriots I would say adios after this year or just give him the franchise tag again if they really want him. I wouldn't even pay him $6 million a year so I don't know how they could be $6 million different.

    Welker would not be a #1 receiver anywhere else. At best he would be #2 but probably a slot receiver. He is 31 his production is going to start to dwindle

    I would have to partially agree with your post. I definitely don't think he should get paid a ton because I think he is a product of the Patriots system and unfortunately Tom Brady, also he is 31 so who wants to commit that much money to an old guy.

    I definitely think he could be a #1 at some places but would be a really strong #2 receiver anywhere he went. He is one of the best route runners in the game.
