This is more of a fantasy scare than anything else I think. If Jones-Drew doesn't get a new deal he is not going to play hard. He might come back but I wouldn't expect anything amazing. The Jags went 5-11 last year even though he was a top producing back. The rest of their offense is so bad that even with the 2nd best RB from scrimmage they didn't win a lot of games so they clearly need to focus on other issues. It's not like they could do much worse without him.

yeah but if the team starts to gel and Gabbert or Henne start performing they are going to want a committed MJD. He proved he could produce when all focus was on him so the Jags are foolish to not have their best player practicing and happy. I don't know how long he will sit out being fined $30,000 a day but I wouldn't want my best player to be partially committed.

Yeah they need to make MJD happy and sign Blackmon, they have no chance without those two and Gabbert clearly needs all the help he can get. I still wouldn't start Gabbert, he looked too timid in the pocket last year and was afraid to get hit. I can't blame him but if you are going to be a NFL quarterback you have to be willing to get hit.

yeah they should start Henne, he is the better option, he was improving last year and he is used to being on a team with no receivers. I just don't see Gabbert being successful but I think Henne still has a chance.
